Isaac, an undergraduate researcher funded by the Office of Undergraduate Research, presented at the 2025 Research at the Capital event on March 31, 2025. He presented on his Bur Oak Blight research that he has been conducting with the LOQATE lab. Research in the Capitol takes students to the Iowa Statehouse to talk to Iowa's legislators about research and creative scholarship at all three regent universities. Each year, 20 students from each university bring research posters to display at Iowa's Statehouse. Students use their posters as a backdrop to discuss their work with Iowa's legislators. This event also allows students to practice discussing their work with officials, outlining the community/global impact, educational benefits, and importance of their research.
